Happy Wednesday everybody! Today’s post is going to be kind of unique…Today I am pairing up with Maggie, the lovely writer behind Dreaming of Guatemala in a blog collab! Basically what is happening is we are both writing on the same topic, just in different forms. When y’all are done reading my post, (or before you read mine, I truly don’t mind either way, haha!) please make sure you read Maggie’s post !
The topic that Maggie suggested was ‘Trusting in His Timing’. Right as soon I had seen this I knew this topic had to happen! She had said this is something she had been struggling with and I was quick to second that. So today I am going to compile some poems together that I have written – some recent and others not – that deal with God, His will, His timing, and patience. Some of these poems were written over a year ago, while some were created within the past hour. Some are not completely finished, but I decided to include them anyway.
Let’s begin, shall we?!
It’s hard to find the balance between doing and waiting. I often feel like time and I are dating. I want to do things and get them done, I feel as though I need to run. I just really need to sit down and trust in His timing. If only it were as easy as rhyming!
Trust in God is what they say. I believe it, but it’s not feeling quite as easy today. Your timing, not mine. This thought does not settle fine. I know it’s better when you’re in charge, but God I’m not patient I need You to barge!
I know You see it and I cannot. God help me to know that I will not rot. I can only see things as they are now, You say I have a good future, this You vow. God my trust in You is lacking. It’s like all my hope I’ve been away packing. Seriously, how can this be?! You have never, even once failed me. Yet here I am in all of my doubt….this cannot be what life is about.
I thought You should be working on my time table. Honestly that is just me limiting what I think You are able. God I know you are capable of way more than my every thought, but when nothing is happening I can’t help but feel caught. I want things to come fast, yet if they actually did they wouldn’t last. I know things are better with You running it all. If it wasn’t for You I’d be in a constant fall.
You say to ask for anything in Jesus’ name, You say we’ll receive it, it’s not a game. How do I become patient enough to wait? How do I just stay here and not jump the gate? I need to believe more with my heart, I need to actually allow You the head start. All this time I’ve been wanting to skip the race; what I really need to do is slow my pace. I’m trying to reach the finish line, which I know is quite fine, but how I’ve been doing it isn’t right. I need to rely on God for all of my might. So in the name of Jesus I ask for guidance and peace. I pray that both of these You’ll release.
Well there you have it! So I guess the majority of these poems are just really me complaining about waiting for God to move in my life. There is really nothing extremely positive about them, yet they are real. This is what I am going through in my life at the moment and YES I feel it’s getting better! In no time at all I’ll be posting some more poems (that are actually uplifting 😉) describing me overcoming this. In the mean time I am going to learn in this season of waiting. I need to learn to be patient and I also need to learn to trust God more.
God is amazing and so is His timing, I promise! I have gone through seasons like this before where I start to doubt, but He always proves Himself to be faithful.
I want to encourage you to not give up. It may seem like God is going too slow, and things might never workout, but chill! His plans will persevere and the moment will come where you’ll look back and be so happy that things didn’t go your way, on your time. (I may have wrote that just for myself to read, haha)
I hope you enjoyed reading! Again, be sure to check out the latest post on Dreaming of Guatemala
I wish all of y’all a very blessed and amazing day ❤️
Hello there wonderful people! Today I have a very short post just asking for some prayer.
People I personally do not know (they are my friend’s friends) need to be uplifted in prayer right now.
So, a couple from my bestfriend’s church have been in a motorcycle accident. I do not know many details other than they are at the hospital getting x-rays done and they are in a lot of pain. If you could I would like to ask everyone reading this to pray. I know they would be more than grateful. If you like things to be a little more personal, like I do, their names are Jim and Barbara.
I have seen the power of God at work in the past with all of your wonderful prayers and I know it can happen again! Prayer is a VERY powerful thing alone and when you have multiple people to pray along too, well let’s just say miracles happen.
Well hello there! I am so glad you decided to click on this post to see what it’s all about 🙂 You can pretty much tell what it’s about from the title, but I am going to explain a little better!
So yes, I do write poetry. I really enjoy it too! Rhyming and putting words together comes really easy to me, which is quite helpful when writing poetry, haha! Some are longer than others and some are more personal than others as well. The thing I love the most is the fact that God speaks to me through almost all of them. Most of my writings are me just pouring my heart out. Most of them start out as a problem or something I have been dealing with, but by the end God has turned it completely around and He adds hope and encouragement.
How did this series come about? I had mentioned something about writing poems in a previous post and my fabulous blogging friend, Maggie said she’d love to see some of them. I always thought about posting my poems, but the thought of it was pretty daunting, especially because most are quite personal. BUT, I have decided to just go for it! Maggie really inspired me to do so too, so “THANK YOU, MAGGIE! YOU ROCK!” I am not sure how often I will be posting poems, but when I do I hope that they will inspire you! Shall we begin?!
My first poem I will be posting is one I wrote just a few days ago. This is a perfect example of why I love writing them SO much! As you’ll be able to tell this is just a back-in-forth conversation between me and God. God’s words to me are in the quotations.
So that is that! I hope you enjoyed reading and I hope it touched you even in the slightest of ways! May your day be bright and beautiful 😀 ❤
Hi everyone! I am here calling all prayer warriors for a favor. My brother is a football player (an amazing one too!) he was at a game tonight and he recovered a fumble (told ya he was good 😉) Unfortunately in the mix of it all he broke his collarbone, pretty badly too. He also pulled his arm out of socket which does not make the situation any better. He was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. Currently my parents are waiting for the surgeon to tell them whether he needs surgery right now, or not. This is a situation that needs to be handed over to God, for sure. We are praying for a miracle to happen, we know it can happen. In case you didn’t know: God is awesome y’all!! Again, my whole family would really appreciate all of your prayers. Thank you, all of you guys are so awesome 😊❤️
Hi there! On August 5th I posted a post asking you for some things you’d like to know about me, so you can get to know me better. I did it in a pretty strange way too….If you haven’t had the chance to check that out you can do so here: Interview Me~Got Questions.
Anyhow, here is my follow-up post with all of the answers to your terrific questions! Thanks to all who have responded with questions! For a special “thank you” I will leave a link to every blogger’s site that left me feedback!
Let’s get started!!
**These questions are not in ANY particular order!**
So how did you learn cooking? I have learned a lot from my parents, especially the fundamentals. Nowadays I learn a lot by watching the Food Network and experimenting!
What game or movie universe would you most like to live in? I know I have an opportunity to be super creative here, but mind has gone blank, so I am just going to say, ‘The Teen Beach Movie’ Who wouldn’t love to travel to the 60’s?!?!
What’s your favorite way to start the day? Waking up early, eating breakfast, drinking hot herbal tea and reading/studying the Bible. Sadly, I rarely follow through with this…
Are you interested in anything that most people have never heard of? Decoupaging-Okay, so this is just a fancy word for gluing pieces of paper onto an object and then finishing with a few coats of sealant. The process may be known, but I would say the word is a little more rare 😉
Would you rather go hang-gliding or white water rafting? Why? Huh…I guess I would rather go hang-gliding. It seems like it could be peaceful once you started, where as white water rafting is a constant state of high energy and craziness. Honestly, I will probably never do either of these two.
What is something that a ton of people are obsessed with but that you just don’t get? Pokémon
Would you rather spend time with friends going to the mall or have a hiking adventure? Although I do enjoy shopping; I would choose a hike. I love exploring nature and involving a friend would make things even better!
Hershey’s or Reese’s? Dark chocolate Hersheys!
Dogs or Cats? Dogs, all the way!
Pixar or Disney? There are some amazing Pixar movies that I love, but I have to stick with Disney 🙂
TV show or Movie? TV! I enjoy movies, but I am more often in an episode kind of mood!
Someone who’s exactly like you for a friend, or exactly opposite? I think both could be healthy. Having somebody that is the opposite is good, especially with me being an introvert they help me be bolder. Also, I find it enjoyable to have somebody just like me, since we share a lot of things in common.
Winter or Summer? Spring or Fall? Summer and Fall. Out of them all, it is FALL FOR SURE!!
Big animals or little ones? Overall I would say little ones!
What’s your favourite breed of dog? If we are going with looks then it would be: Border collies! We actually have one:
Isn’t he so cute?!?!?!
Favourite colour? ORANGE!!
What movie could you watch over and over and still love? I am going to say the first thing that popped into my head: ‘Soul Surfer’ I’ve watched it many times and I still love it!
Favourite movie? I have SO MANY! God’s Not Dead, Soul Surfer, Tangled, The Blind Side, This is Our Time, and the most recent, The Next Karate Kid!
Favourite song? I cannot even list them all!! I am going to limit myself to one: I Surrender by Hillsong United
What is your favourite craft? I really enjoy clothing DIY’s and seasonal decor. Neither of which I have ever posted about….I wonder why?!
What is your perfect pizza? Stuffed crust supreme pizza. Plenty of sauce, cheese, and toppings.
Have you ever danced in the rain?
Yes, I am pretty sure I have….I think the fact that I am even doubting it means it needs to happen again!!
What was the last picture you took? Let me check….oh no, this is embarrassing. I know I have to be honest though. The last picture I took was one of my headphones cord tangled in my arm hairs….Why would I take a picture of that?! *note~This was last week and no I do not have this picture anymore, haha!*
What was your first thought when you woke up this morning? I believe it was me being thankful that my dream was not real!
What is your earliest memory? I am not sure how old I was, but the earliest I can recall is when my oldest, younger brother ran into a body mirror and cut his head open 😱
What is one meal/cuisine/cooking technique that you just can’t master? I have MANY techniques to explore yet. To be honest, I can’t think of one I am struggling with at the moment. I think that means I need to try some new things!!
When did you start following God? Fantastic question! I was saved at the age of 10, so that was almost 8 years ago!! Though I was saved, it was only a few years ago where I started a REAL relationship and began to wholeheartedly follow Jesus!
I want to give another big thanks to all of those who asked me questions! As I promised, here are the links to all those who asked questions! Please check out all of these wonderful blogs:
I hope you enjoyed learning more about me! As always, have an amazing and super blessed day 🙂
